Virtual Mailing Address

Your business address is everywhere, or at least it should be. People want to feel secure that they are dealing with a real business so you should display it on the bottom of your website and you should add it to Google Business. All open doors make it easier to find you, and Google Maps is another way people can and will search for your business online.

Email automation tools require you to enter your address to prove you’re a real business, as do all of the domain registrars, and a number of other tools. If you’re a solopreneur or running a home business you might not want your home address plastered all over the internet. As a business owner, you want to put forth a professional image, and having the front door of your home popup on Google Maps or Google Earth might not be the professional image you’re looking for.

Having a professional office building address in one of the thousands of locations worldwide is one of the many reasons why having a virtual mailing address for your business is smart business. It also gives you the ability to have someone else shred and discard all that junk mail for you.

How it Works

  1. You receive mail to your virtual mailbox

A virtual mailbox is a physical mailbox owned by someone else. It’s kind of like a post office box, but the mail is delivered to a company (not a box) with a real concierge and they sort all the mail coming in.

  2. The Virtual Mailbox company will sort through

They immediately discard obvious junk, scan everything else into your online portal, and store the physical copies somewhere safe for you.

  3. Setup Automated Actions

You can tell the virtual company to automatically condense and send your mail to you on a specified cadence, deposit checks, discard certain types of mail, and scan other types.

  4. Default Actions

If you do not specify default actions for what they should do, they will automatically bundle everything they receive for you and send it on a cadence – At least this is what my virtual mailbox does.

Near and dear to my heart is an additional benefit they have, where they will ship your mail and packages to you anywhere in the world they have offices. They ship your mail packages to another facility of theirs and you go pick it up. You can also set up temporary mailing addresses at alternative locations if you’re going to be somewhere for an extended period of time. This is a great way to receive important mail and packages while you’re traveling for extended periods.

Another advantage of a virtual mailbox is the search feature. Physical mail takes up space, collects dust, and isn’t searchable, but a virtual mailbox is none of these things and is completely searchable. Wondering when you last heard from X company – search your inbox.
